Weekly Update: January 4, 2018

Key Iowa IBS Events
It’s finally here – the 2018 International Builders Show and we have nearly 400 Iowans that are registered to attend.  Safe travels to everyone going and we’ll have some highlights in next week’s newsletter.  Here are some key meetings:
Member Night
We will once again gather with our neighbors in North Dakota and Minnesota for our Iowa Party night.  It will be Tuesday, January 9, 2018 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Rosen Centre (9840 International Drive).  We will gather in Salon 9 and 10.  Email HBAI EO Jay Iverson right now with your reservation(s).

NAHB Student Competition – Kirkwood Community College
Monday, January 8, 2017; 11:40 a.m.; Orange County Convention Center W105-A-B – come watch our student team from Kirkwood Community College display their knowledge in the NAHB Student Competition.

Young Professionals Reception – Brandon Patterson
Our own Brandon Patterson is a finalist for the NAHB Young Professionals competition and the five regional winners will be revealed January 8 during the Young Professionals Awards Reception being held from 5:30-7 p.m. in room W414A at the Orange County Convention Center.

Associates of Excellence Awards Lunch – Mike Farr
Our own Mike Farr is a finalist in the Associates of Excellence awards.  This will be Wednesday, January 10 from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM.  Check your …

Weekly Update: August 13, 2015

We had a great time at the Des Moines HBA Networking After Hours event at Ferguson last Thursday night.  Great food, prizes, displays, and fellowship.  Always fun.

 
Ames HBA Wins Big in Spring Member Drive – +18.27%!!!
Congratulations to the Ames Home Builders Association as a winner in the NAHB 2015 Spring Membership Drive. They win $1,500 for their awesome 18.27% growth during the campaign. That is so cool.

Bob Manning Is New HBA of NE Iowa Executive Officer
Bob Manning is the new executive officer for the HBA of NE Iowa, replacing the retiring Bruce Radue, who filled the position for the past 21 years. Mr. Manning retired last May from over 30 years in the banking industry, involved mainly in new home construction and real estate lending. He has been a HBA member for over 20 years and has served on the board and as treasurer. We look forward to working with Mr. Manning and wish Mr. Radue the very best in his retirement.

   HBAI Executive Officer Jay Iverson just returned yesterday morning from the American Society of Association Executives Annual meeting in Detroit.  It was four early morning until late at night days spent with nearly 6,000 association executives from around the world.  …
